Detailed Bio
Mark is a widely respected, inspiring and visionary business leader, coach, consultant and mentor based in the North of England. Aged 28 his employer, a textile machinery manufacturer, sent him to the USA to run their North America sales and service business.
Within four years he had built a team which increased sales from US$ 6 million to over US$ 20 million, overcame a series of major technical problems, and developed a reputation for outstanding customer service 4,000 miles from the parent company in a demanding marketplace with fierce competition.
For over 25 years he has specialised in solving tough business problems as a trusted advisor and increasingly in coaching and mentoring. He is passionate about enabling women, minorities, young leaders and entrepreneurs to succeed in building great businesses. He has deep insights into neuroscience and psychology which highlight the importance of emotions and a genuine care for other in effective leadership, along with the futility of pursuing business strategies focused only on financial results.
As Mark Carney, former Governor of the Bank of England and leading candidate for Prime Minister of Canada puts it: “Profit is no more the purpose of business than breathing is the purpose of life”.
